Distribution boxes are classified according to their structural characteristics and uses:
1、固定面板式开关柜，常称开关板或配电屏。它是一种有面板遮拦的开启式开关柜，正面有防护作用，背面和侧面仍能触及带电部分，防护等级低，只能用于对供电连续性和可靠性要求较低的工矿企业，作变电室集中供电用。
1, fixed panel switchgear, often referred to as switchboard or distribution panel. It is an open switch cabinet with panel shield. The front side has protective effect. The back and side can still touch the live part. The protection grade is low. It can only be used in industrial and mining enterprises which require low power supply continuity and reliability.
2、防护式(即封闭式)开关柜，指除安装面外，其它所有侧面都被封闭起来的一种低压开关柜。这种柜子的开关、保护和监测控制等电气元件，均安装在一个用钢或绝缘材料制成的封闭外壳内，可靠墙或离墙安装。柜内每条回路之间可以不加隔离措施，也可以采用接地的金属板或绝缘板进行隔离。通常门与主开关操作有机械联锁。另外还有防护式台型开关柜(即控制台)，面板上装有控制、测量、信号等电器。防护式开关柜主要用作工艺现场的配电装置。
2. Protective (i.e. closed) switchgear refers to a kind of low-voltage switchgear with all sides closed except the installation surface. The switching, protection, monitoring and control electrical components of the cabinet are all installed in a closed enclosure made of steel or insulating material, which can be reliably mounted on or off the wall. Each circuit in the cabinet can be separated without isolation measures, or can be separated by grounded metal plates or insulation plates. Usually, the door has mechanical interlocking with the main switch. In addition, there are protective desktop switchgear (that is, the console), the panel is equipped with control, measurement, signal and other electrical appliances. The protective switchgear is mainly used as the power distribution device at the process site.
3、抽屉式开关柜。这类开关柜采用钢板制成封闭外壳，进出线回路的电器元件都安装在可抽出的抽屉中，构成能完成某一类供电任务的功能单元。功能单元与母线或电缆之间，用接地的金属板或塑料制成的功能板隔开，形成母线、功能单元和电缆三个区域。每个功能单元之间也有隔离措施。抽屉式开关柜有较高的可靠性、安全性和互换性，是比较先进的开关柜，生产的开关柜，多数是抽屉式开关柜。它们适用于要求供电可靠性较高的工矿企业、高层建筑，作为集中控制的配电中心。
3. Drawer type switchgear. This kind of switch cabinet is made of steel plate enclosed shell, and the electrical components in and out of the circuit are installed in the drawer which can be pulled out to form a functional unit which can complete a certain type of power supply task. Between the function unit and the bus bar or cable, the function board made of grounded metal or plastic is separated to form three areas: the bus bar, the function unit and the cable. There are isolation measures between each functional unit. Drawer type switch cabinet has higher reliability, safety and interchangeability, is a more advanced switch cabinet, the production of switch cabinet, mostly drawer type switch cabinet. They are suitable for industrial and mining enterprises and high-rise buildings which require high reliability of power supply, and they are used as centralized control distribution centers.
4、动力、照明配电控制箱。多为封闭式垂直安装。因使用场合不同，外壳防护等级也不同。它们主要作为工矿企业生产现场的配电装置。
4. Power and lighting distribution control box. Mostly for closed vertical installation. Because of the different use occasions, the shell protection level is also different. They are mainly used as distribution devices for production sites of industrial and mining enterprises.
